Are these Milk bottles really Eco friendly???
Customers are being fooled!!!
Just the bottles alone are Eco friendly but do the consumer knows about what happens behind the sense?
Washing involves huge amount of detergent which is let go in the soil which changes soil ph value and has highest chance of contaminating the ground water table. It is irreversible if the ground water table is damaged.
Next is bottling machines which cannot be cleaned just like that using our dish wash soap and hot water, so what is the procedure to clean it?
Strong caustic substance like sodium hydroxide is used to clean the filling machines, which all the dairy unit hides from consumer.
To your info caustic chemicals like sodium hydroxide cannot be handled barehanded, it will burn the skin. Same way when disposed in soil that will damage the bio-diversity in soil, it kills all the living organisms (insects, micro organisms, plants, trees and any living thing) Consumers understand that pollution is pollution either in above the soil or inside the soil… Why consumers are not having knowledge to think about this?
In the case of soil contamination with caustic compounds, some nutrients cannot be efficiently absorbed by plant roots as soil pH is too alkaline this leads plant to languish and die.
For sure plastics are not Eco friendly but at least we can see it and physically remove it and recycle it but if ground water table is contaminated with unwanted chemicals like sodium hydroxide, we cannot do anything to reverse it back.
Touch your heart and think have we tried anything regarding waste management? Before even trying the preliminary steps, why we are trying to evolve further?
Even if someone gives brilliant answer that sodium hydroxide can be neutralized by Hcl(hydrochloric acid) then they should know that this process makes the soil and ground water salty. See the reaction:- NaOH +Hcl --> NaCl + H2O NaCl is nothing but out edible salt.
Last but not least, bottle washing and bottling machine cleaning involves huge water wastage. After knowing all this, still if you say bottles are good they you should be one among the many who live not even know how and from where they get water.
End of the day we are creating a new threat to environment.
Waste management initiation by senganthal
As milk is packed in low density polymer covers, as a waste management initiation we are collecting it back once a month from our customers. We send those covers to waste management NGO who use this LD covers for recycling. Plastics are very dangerous to environment so please dispose it with extra care. We are here to collect our milk covers, please do not throw it in garbage as it is a potential threat to our environment.
